This year I wanted for a change - korean style for CNY 


I wanted a perm
I am so excited about my new image..imagine myself looking like those Kpop :)
Everything turn up to be a disappointment-become a bubble...

I choose a korea stylist.

I communicate in korea thr google translation.

She speak very simple english.

Instead of "i think "she will say "me think"

Instead of "blowdry" she will say "dry"

I think it is fine as long as i can understand.

I decide to let the stylist decide what style she recommend before I tell her what I want...maybe she has better idea.

To my surprise she show me a straight short hair.

If i wanted something so simple then i can go to my usual saloon not this korea saloon.

I think straight short hair is so simple style!

(Unless I have been long long time long hair never change style then will decide this.)

I actually expect something more for korean saloon.

Personally feel in korea there are many hair style...not those celebrity...normal also will style their hair...if they operate in korea , she suggest this to customer , i think they wont survive.

I wanted a perm.She say not suitable for me.

Then she give another suggestion : 

colour hair 1st then 1 mth later do perm.

I told her i wanted to change hair style for cny.

She still insist her way.

Her korean stylist colleague happen to passby she check with her.

Then this korean explain becos my hair is very thin & due to my face shape cant do hair perm at this length.

She suggest do 1/2volumn rebond & 1/2perm.

I ask her for pic she like very unhappy then say no found manage to find 1 to show me.

Happy finally can do some perm...some changes for cny.

There is a guy who is also senior stylist helping her listen to her instruction to help me in washing e.g

He show me the price list ok I agree.

Then later she advise my hair need to do a Mucota treatment $200 otherwise if i do the chemical my hair will be spoilt.

Ok already come to this stage & already wash hair I decide to give it a try...if never try never know.

Actually personally feel she is a bit old fashion in her dressing but still want to trust her since she claim she got 10years experience.

She also seem confident ok pray hard...

I also dont like the way she keep shouting to the senior stylist to do this to that on my hair but he doesnt seem mind.

I find he got a very good attitude & very polite to me.

He will ask am I hungry ,want any food etc...

He offer korean noodle cup but I saw it is the normal korea brand product of china nongshim which I taste before.

 (I had tasted the Shin cup noodle made in korea)

OK back to the hair treatment:

I dont like they put the dryer , straightener on the floor...

worst after the treatment we cant wash hair for few days...

Treatment 

 Digital Perming (korea machine)
Abit scary as they say the feeling should be warm not hot...
The guy stay around to make sure it is not too hot...
I ever feel hot on my ear, he quickly adjust.
It either they are not experience enough to fix it or other...

This is the senior local stylist.
Personally find he is quite polite & good.
If we choose korean stylist, the local stylist will assist them.
They are not shampoo boy.

can see she is shouting yes the guy name.

Ok she is smiling think she saw me taking me pic, ok I post this pic then.

To my disappointment , the result is : 
Although the hair style got korean feel but : 

1) It is very volume - not suitable for my round face.
2)The curl is those very aunty style. I look very old dont suit me at all.
3) The curl is not evenly done.


I told her what I feel
She said that she already told me perm dont suit me.
Actually personally find her cant make it...
Perm got big wave small wave, big curl small curl etc...
She say my face not suit thought she already do 1/2 rebond 1/2 perm.
Her volume rebond is too much or in fact for my round face shouldnt do too much volume.
I told her I actually dont like ...look very aunty & curl...
She amend by cutting shorter still the same.
I ask her not to cut anymore.
She ask her director to help to check...he say ok very nice.
I told him my 2 side is not even...he say no...then i point to him...he then advise do rebond on the fringe

Still after done look not suitable & the 2side is not evenly done.
The centre manager ,the hairstylist & the director keep saying it is nice.So this is their standard.
The centre manager claim they can do foc amendment within 1 week.
Yes i know it is not suitable for me.
I had asked my friends & relative opinion yes they also say no suitable.
Anyway i show some pics anyway fr pic very hard to see.

This is 2nd day without wash...luckily not as volume as the first day.
Can see the 2 side is uneven and they keep saying 2side will never been same but this is so much different.

Another side : 

Just pray hard now as the days goes by...the perm & volume will be improved... Already share with u what i have encountered, if you all still insist to try , go ahead..


Their pricing : 

However if they combine 1/2 volume rebond & 1/2 perm there is another price list...they still consider full hair but they claim they calculate as full price for their regulation-only discount $100.

Can see it is not always what we have calculate.
If you still want to go & have a try...go ahead but prepare to bring more cash.

SG 50 Celebration - Azur Restaurant @ Crowne Plaza Hotel National day celebration

I shall start with the dessert first as some are not easily available.
They create a counter which reflect what the olden days are selling & having.

Soya bean & bandung drink

Both taste good, especially the bandung better than what I taste at other area. It is also very fast finish.

My Fav Ting TIng candy!

 Kacang puteh - very rare to see this now

Goreng pisang -  Nice!

Sweet potatoes -  nice ! My son keep asking for this.

Muah Chee : miss this so much 

The cake & ang ku kueh taste very normal.

The rest are nice must remember to try.

The one wrap in banana leaf taste sweet & salty very special to me.

Other in the dessert include :  Steamed Kueh &  butter corn.

Modern dessert section : 

 Swiss roll 
This cake taste abit rough : 

Almond longan - this desset never taste wrong
Black forest -  taste normal
Ondeh ondeh peanut fillings - taste so so 
prefer gula melaka as fillings

 Durian cake -  taste nice I have a few servings :)

The main : Beside local they add a bit of western food : 
Black pepper seabass -  can give it a miss
macaroni- no bad
Turkey with rosemary sauce

Local delights: 
Indian rojak-not too bad , quite fresh
satay- Mutton, beef & chicken.  
           I only take chicken which is nice.The chicken very fast            taken up.

sweet sour chicken-  nice love the separate sauce
otak- not my type , very strong lemongrass taste & the texture is not
See the popiah , big portion!

 The popiah ingredients : 
Big portion & a lot of ingredients , see the sausage? 

Rojak -  quite a variety  

 Seafood :
Chilli crab - the sauce is nice , it would be good if they have deep fried mantou.
crayfish is nice with the sauce.
3type of cracker- all are quite fresh & nice . I cant help to take more servings although eating this at a buffet seem so stupid right waste stomach space.

 Hainanese Chicken Rice Balls-Although the chicken is BBQ  but it nice.

kway chap : I miss this as I forgot to take from the live station! I realised too late!

Personally feel the food & local dessert counter is very unusual.
Love the way they decorate. 
Their plan is to create “So Singaporean” scene, a Pasar Malam night market snack counter.It would be lovely if they decorate like a real Pasar Malam theme.
